Welcome to the Cross Keys Hotel
We are a 17th Century Coaching Inn that has been updated for this century's requirements. Under a new management team since mid 2006, we offer a warm and informal welcome to all. Located in the centre of Peebles, we are central for the High Street and all the surrounding beauty and activity sites of the Tweed Valley. We are geared up for bikers, the world famous Glentress and Innerleithen Seven Stanes sites are a short minutes pedal from the front door. We have a secure bike lock up, a cleaning area, a drying room and bunkroom accommodation for your whole group. These facilities are also ideal for walkers, anglers and golfers - we are a member of the VisitScotland Welcome Schemes for all these activities. Breakfast is sourced from our local butchers and farmers: excellent Scottish produce.
There is a pub downstairs with real fires, real ale, live music and televised sport. The Cross Keys is the oldest continuously operating inn/hotel in Peebles. The building dates from 1654 and it has been a place of rest and refreshment since it's acquisition by Vintner Ritchie in 1693 - his daughter Marion was the first landlady and is imortalised as the model for Meg Dodds in sir Walter Scott's Waverly novels - and as our long term resident ghost! With lots to explore, Peebles is a fantastic area to visit and the Cross Keys is your first choice place to stay.
Look forward to seeing you soon |
